Description
Ritalin is a central nervous system stimulant prescription medicine. It affects chemicals in the brain and nerves that contribute to hyperactivity and impulse control.
Ritalin extended-release capsules are used to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in children 6 years of age and older, adolescents, and in adults up to the age of 65.
Ritalin should be used as a part of a total treatment program for ADHD that may include counseling or other therapies.
